Tyler gas station robbed, suspect flees with undetermined amount of money

Tyler Police were called to a robbery at a local gas station.

It happened late Friday night at 9:40 p.m. at the Food Fast gas station at 6400 block of S. Broadway Avenue.

On arrival, a store employee told police that a black male entered through the front door. Once inside, the suspect grabbed one of the workers and demanded money from the cashier.

He had his hand covered with some type of rag or shirt and there appeared to be a gun underneath.

The employee put an undisclosed amount of money in a bag and the man left the scene going east bound behind the store.

Just before the robbery, one of the employee's saw an older model white, 4-door sedan parked behind the building.

The driver's face was hidden with a light colored stocking cap.

Fortunately, the employees were unharmed in this incident.

The robber is described as a black male, between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair.

The suspect also had a goatee and was wearing a dark brown sweater and dark pants.
