The state of Texas ranks in the top 5 states for businesses across the country and the city of Tyler has helped get them to that honor.

Tyler has shown continued success with the small businesses that start here and part of that is due to the resources the city has to offer. There are programs geared towards starting small businesses in an area where they can prosper. The IGI plan focuses on making Tyler a place where owners would want to bring their business such as having low tax rates, good health plans, and safe neighborhoods.

Tyler Junior College offers classes and networking where those interested in how to start a business and keep it running successfully can be educated. They also provide opportunities for people to network and meet mentors.

Numerous veterans groups are also involved in helping their fellow service members start businesses.

Small business owner, Lloyd Nichols spoke about the numerous resources the city has to offer and how supportive the city, as a whole, is in those starting new adventures.
