Tyler ISD students raise money for OK tornado victims
Tyler, TX (Tyler ISD) — The recent string of tornadoes in Oklahoma has touched the hearts of everyone in our country. Students at MooreMST Magnet School felt a special kinship to the people of Moore, Oklahoma, and decided to help.
Students brought two dollars to school in exchange for casual dress for a day. Many students brought more than two dollars because they wanted to do everything they could to contribute to the rebuilding of the Moore community. In total, the students raised an astounding $1,825.
The members of the Moore Student Council presented a check to Matthew Brown, a representative from the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is working every day to help the people of Oklahoma, and the students from Moore were so grateful to be able to support the recovery effort.
