Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Tyler I.S.D. will hold a press conference to this morning to announce the future plans for A.T. Stewart Middle School. 

Educators and concerned parents met in February to discuss their concerns about the middle school.

Superintendent Mooring tells KETK, the district's secondary schools need to be repurposed.

part of that, mooring says includes turning Stewart middle school into an "Excel Academy."

The school board approved a $160.5 million dollar bond for the May ballot.

A new middle school is included in the bond.

The Press Conference will be held at Jim Plyler Instructional Complex at 10:00 a.m.
