Tyler passes proposals for city improvements, new fire station
TYLER — In the Tyler City Council meeting Wednesday morning, officials passed the One-Half Cent Sales Tax proposal for the 2011-2012 budget year, which alots money for capital improvements to the city.
The project will expand 220 projects over the next 10 years, including road and airport construction.
The council also passed a proposal awarding $1,711,000 to construct Fire Station 5 in Tyler. The station should be open by next summer.
