Suspect identified as 71-year old John Handy.

Tyler — FROM TYLER POLICE: At about 8:40 PM, Tyler Police were called to 521 E Line in response to a residential burglary in progress. 

A witness called 911 reporting that they had observed a black male suspect breaking a window and then entering the residence. 

When Tyler Police Officers arrived on scene, the suspect was contacted as he was exiting the residence.  The suspect was in possession of electronic equipment that belonged to the resident. 

The suspect was then taken into custody and charged with residential burglary.  The arrestee was identified as John Handy age 71.
