Tyler — Tyler police are investigating an officer-involved shooting after an incident in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day left a suspect dead.

Tyler Police officers responded to the 600 block of E. Queen just after midnight on Tuesday in reference to numerous reports of gunshots, said Donald Martin, public information officer for the department.

Officers located gunshots coming from the rear of a residence, when officers could see muzzle flashes and shots coming from the back of the residence, Martin said.
