UPDATE:  Tyler Police Detectives have determined through further investigation that Alejandro Zavala was the shooter in this case. He was arrested this morning and booked into Smith County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
 

On Saturday, February 4th, 2012, at approximately 2:50 a.m, Tyler Police were notified by East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) of a gunshot victim in the Emergency Room. Officers learned from the victim, identified as 19 year old Sergio Armando Ayup, that he was involved in a physical altercation at a house in the 500 block of Valentine St. According to the victim, he was shot in the upper chest by someone in the group. The victim was treated for what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition. Tyler Police detectives are currently investigating the case.

(903-597-2833). Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
