Tyler Police make an arrest in aggravated kidnapping

On February 28, 2012, at about 4:39 pm, Tyler Police were called to 1012 Robertson Avenue, in reference to a possible Kidnapping. When officers arrived on scene, a witness stated that they had observed a Hispanic male holding onto a female as he was forcing her into a vehicle. The witness said that they also heard her yelling for help.

Tyler Police Officers began canvasing the area looking for the vehicle. At about 5:18 pm, the suspect vehicle was located by officers. Inside the vehicle were three occupants: the driver/suspect, Kevin Loria Hispanic male age 22, the victim, a Hispanic female age 22, and another passenger, Mark Morales Hispanic male age 17.


Upon contact with Mark Morales, it was discovered that he was in possession of marijuana. He was subsequently arrested for that possession.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

Tyler Police Investigators were called out and conducted interviews with the three subjects. Investigators determined that the victim was assaulted by Kevin Loria during the commission of the kidnapping.

Kevin Loria was arrested for Aggravated Kidnapping and booked into Smith County Jail.
 


Tyler Police tell KETK, they are currently working an aggravated kidnapping.

Details are limited at this time, but officials do say that it is in the area of 2nd and 6th streets, and that the female involved is okay.
