Tyler police on scene of stabbing

TYLER — Tyler Police responded to the 400 block of E. Line on a report of a W/M who had been stabbed in the upper chest.
Officers were told that the victim, suspect and witness had been drinking in a wooded area just off of Line Street. The victim and W/M suspect had got into a verbal altercation when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. The victim then walked out of the wooded area into the intersection of Line and Frank and asked for help.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The extent of his injury is unknown at this time.
The suspect fled the area on foot and has not been located by police. He was described as 5’7’’, heavy build, 30 to 40 years old.
The victim’s name has not been released, until it has been confirmed. The incident remains under investigation.

Tyler police tell KETK two men who had been drinking started fighting and one stabbed the other with a knife.
The man has been taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
After the stabbing, the attacker fled the scene. His identity has not been released, but he is described as a heavy-set white man in his 30s, about 5' 7'', with no facial hair.
Tyler Police officials tell KETK there was a stabbing at 500 E. Line on Thursday afternoon.
The suspect is still at large.
