The Tyler Public Library will host its Spring Book Sale in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium, Thursday, March 14 through Sunday, March 17.

“We are selling adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction books, as well as audio books, videotapes, vinyl records, encyclopedias and textbooks,” said Mary Vernau, City librarian. “All items are priced at $1 or less.”

Items for sale include donations which do not meet the Library’s current needs and resources that have been withdrawn from Library circulation. Library staff and volunteers have been sorting and preparing sale items for months.

“All proceeds from our sales go toward the purchase of new or replacement items for the Library’s collection,” said Vernau. “We expect to have thousands of items on hand, nearly all of them new to this sale.”

The sale area will be open: Thursday, 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday adult hardback books are priced at $1 while paperbacks and children’s books are just 50¢. On Sunday, the Library will provide cardboard boxes that can be filled for $5 and paper grocery bags to fill for $2. There are no previews of sale items or early sales.

Tyler Public Library is located at 201 S. College in downtown Tyler. More information about the sale can be found on the Library website: www.TylerLibrary.com or by calling (903) 593-7323.
