A Tyler street is set to be demolished.

During today's Council meeting, the Tyler City Council authorized the asbestos abatement bid and the demolition bid for the 815 west Queen Street Demolition Project to the lowest bidders, Clean Air Remediation Services in the amount of $27,250 and to Cactus in he amount of $40,630.

The City Council recognizes that, in some neighborhoods, substandard buildings exists which are unfit for human habitation and creates slum and blight conditions.

As part of the City of Tyler's emphasis on neighborhood revitalization, enhancements were made to aggressively abate problems associated with dilapidated and dangerous substandard structures, many of which are not good candidates for rehabilitation.
