TYLER - Tyler Police say a toddler drowned in a pool Monday afternoon on her 2nd birthday.

Officers say it happened at about 2 p.m. at a house in the 3700 block of Arlington, off Pollard Street. They say a 16-year-old babysitter was watching Ava Faith Ayers and her 3-year-old sister. While the babysitter was talking to someone, police say Ava went outside and ended up in the pool.

Ava was taken to a local hospital, but was unable to be revived. KETK will bring you more information as it becomes available.
