Before Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel became an "Aggie All-Star," he grew up right here in East Texas. Manziel's uncle is Harley Hooper, of Harley's clothing store in Tyler, and he tells KETK he wanted to make sure Manziel looked his best with his recent publicity.

The name "Johnny football" has been sweeping headlines for months and his uncle Harley gives us the scoop on his head to toe attire for the Heisman ceremony Saturday night.

This past year, it didn't take long for Manziel to prove himself and be named A&M's starting quarterback. "Ninety days ago Johnny was Johnny Manziel, and now he's Johnny football, this super star in East Texas," Hooper said. Uncle Harley says Johnny's been in his life ever since he was born. He said, "His real life beginning until when he was in the 8th grade or so was here in Tyler." Hooper says Manziel is an incredibly humble young man, even as a Heisman finalist. "The family itself, we're all just mouths dropped we're in awe about the whole thing, so excited, so incredibly proud to be a part of it," said Hooper.

Some would say Manziel owes his nickname success to his grandmother who went to nearly all his games growing up. "She would chant from the stands, go Johnny, go, I think the next thing that came from there was go Johnny football, go Johnny go, yah know it got to be that kind of little saying and it just sprang from there and its become this huge nationwide Johnny football," said Hooper.

So when you're watching the Heisman ceremony this weekend and you see Johnny Manziel you'll know he was dressed by his uncle right here in Tyler at Harley's. Hooper says as soon as Johnny became a front runner for the Heisman, they started talking about what he was going to wear. Hooper said, "Everyone looks better in dark clothing, but we accented it with some great neckwear and a pocket square." They're calling it "classic with some flare."

But, if his dashing look isn't enough to set him apart from the other finalists, his socks will. Hooper tells KETK, "His mom bought these Scooby Doo socks online and they're cute and Johnny wanted to wear them and I'm sure Johnny will wear them tomorrow night." Manziel's aunt Bridgette of Bridgette's women's cl;othing store in Tyler says winning the Heisman, "Would mean the world to us, for him."
