They say there are old pilots and bold pilots, but no old, bold pilots.
But to become a member of the UFO’s, you do have to be a bit of both.
UFO stands for United Flying Octogenarians.
As the name implies, you have to be an active pilot and over 80 years old.
They came from all over Texas.
And their backgrounds are as varied as they are.
They flew beautiful old Bonanzas and other classics.
And today, after lunch at the Skyline Café at Tyler Pounds Airport, they toured the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum.
And in the presence of the kind of planes they dreamed of as young men, they were transported back, just for awhile.
