Update: 2 women hospitalized after shooting and car chase in Tyler

On Monday, around 9:01 p.m., officers with the Tyler Police Department responded to a call in the 1000 block of North Bois d' Arc, on reports of an aggravated assault.

Officers learned that the victims Monica Christian and Neambi Hunter were involved in an ongoing disturbance with suspects Tony Traylor, 20, and James Clark, 19.

The women were trying to get away from the suspects in their car.

The suspects approached the victims when Traylor produced a gun and fired into the car striking Christian in the arm. The women also suffered injuries from flying glass.

Both victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries at local hospitals.

Traylor was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and aggravated assault.

Clark was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

This case is currently under investigation by Tyler Police Department.  




Tyler Police tell KETK that around 8:50 p.m. they received a call about gun shots being heard from City Park in Tyler.

When police arrived on scene they didn't find any evidence that there had been a shooting.

Shortly after arrival, authorities responded to a call at Lakeview Active Senior Living, police found a car pulled into the driveway and two women inside the car.

Both women appeared to have injuries.

One woman had a bullet wound to the arm and the second woman had a wound on her leg, at this time police don't know if the wound on the woman's leg was caused by a gun and it's under investigation.

The vehicle the women were found in has been taken in for processing for evidence.

At this time the investigation is still ongoing and we will continue to update you as more information becomes available.


Tyler Police tell KETK, 2 people have been shot.

There are no reports of any deaths.

A person called 911 just after 9 o'clock.
