UPDATE: 3 acres burn in Big Eddy Road grass fire

Smith County — Noonday fire officials tell KETK that the fire was started by fireworks being shot off.
The suspect(s) fled the scene before police could get there.
They say, if caught, charges could be filed.
Fire crews are still on scene to make sure all hot spots are put out completely.
No injuries or structures were damaged.
The grass fire is now under control.
According to the Smith County fire marshal, about 3 acres burned in the fire.
Noonday firefighters are working a grass fire near the Villages Resort off Big Eddy Road.
It's unclear at this time how many acres have burned.
