UPDATE: Alleged Tyler bank robber arrested

TYLER - Tyler police have confirmed the alleged bank robber from the BBVA Compass Bank has been arrested.
Tyler FBI officials say 61-year-old Eddie Ray Myers of Arkansas is the man arrested. They say he was arrested without incident and is now in a local hospital.
Precinct 5 constables were doing surveillance when they saw Myers at his house. Deputies pulled him over and arrested him.
Myers was on parole in Arkansas, but was living in Tyler.
It is unknown when Myers will be moved to a jail.

Tyler Police and FBI investigators responded to a bank robbery at the BBVA Compass Bank located at 6910 S. Broadway, around 12:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010.
Bank employees stated that a white male in his 60’s to early 70’s walked up to a teller inside the bank and handed the employee a note. The note advised the teller that it was a bank robbery, give him the cash and that he had a gun inside his bag. The suspect did not display a weapon during the course of the robbery. The teller complied with his demand and gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then walked out of the bank and left in an unknown direction.
Tyler Police arrived on the scene moments after the bank alarm and searched the area; they were unable to locate the suspect. There were no injuries reported during the course of the incident. Tyler Police obtained bank photographs of the suspect to assist with identifying the suspect.
Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833). Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.

TYLER - Police officials say a bank in Tyler was robbed around 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
Authorities say the robber was carrying a weapon, but did not say what type.
Police are currently searching for the man responsible and do have surveillance video of him.
No injuries were reported.
The bank is located on the 6900 block of South Broadway Avenue and is listed as the BBVA Compass Bank.
