Fire crews are still monitoring the fire; however, they plan to let the fire burn itself out. At this time, there is no worry of the fire spreading because of the heavy rain that soaked the area this morning.

The fire may have been caused by a lightning strike.

Two East Texas fire departments are on the scene of an oil lease fire near 3920 Highway 259 north of Longview. 

The Longview Fire Department is currently assisting Judson Metro Volunteer Fire Department in fighting the fire.

Flames are visible for a distance around the fire, although the full extent of the blaze is not yet known.
