smith county — Officials tell KETK, 43 year-old Anthony C. Thomas of Dallas was charged with driving with a suspended license and driving on the wrong side of the road.

UPDATE:  We've now learned the driver of the other car involved is in jail.

UPDATE:  An official on the scene tells KETK, 17 kids were taken to local hospitals.

UPDATE: The school bus involved was a TISD School bus.

Smith Co. Department of Public Safety Trooper Jean Dark tells KETK, out of the 15 students on the school bus, only a few students were hurt.

She says, they complained of bumps and bruises, and a sprained ankle.

Four ambulances were on stand-by.

Smith County Sheriff's officials confirm a school bus has been involved in a wreck.

The incident happened at the intersection of CR 35 and CR 37.

No word on what school district the bus is from or if there are any injuries.
