Update: Dentist accused of killing wife released on bond

July 7 update: Dr. Bobby Nichols has been released on a $750,000 surety bond. Smith County jail records show Nichols was released on July 3, just after 6:00 pm.

Nichols is charged with murder in the June 29 shooting death of his wife, Rosalind.

Monday update: Investigators have determined that around 5:00 p.m. on June 29, 2012 Dr. Bobby Nichols arrived at his home on Allen Street.

After a short while he and his wife Rosiland Nichols got into an argument, and a little later Dr. Bobby Nichols went out to his vehicle to get his gun and went back into the house.

The argument continued, and Dr. Bobby Nichols shot Rosiland Nichols twice, killing her.

Dr. Bobby Nichols was arrested for murder.

Bond has been set at $750,000.00.

Weekend update: Police on scene tell KETK, Rosiland Nichols was shot and killed at the intersection of Allen and Santa Rosa Drive.

Police also say Dr. Bobby Nichols, the husband, later admitted to police that he shot his wife.

Police say it escalated from a domestic dispute.

The shooting is now being ruled a homicide.

Nichols is charged with Murder and is being held in the Smith County Jail.

Original Story:  Police are on the scene of an alleged murder in Tyler.

It happened at the intersection of Allen Drive and Santa Rosa around 9:30 PM.

Details are slim,  but Police do tell KETK, a woman was found dead.

And, they tell us, her husband is on the way to the Police station to be interviewed.

Not funny sir. A woman has lost her life. Has society become THIS cavalier about the loss of life? I just don't understand.
