UPDATE: Dog killed in Tyler fire

Tyler, Tx (KETK) — Tyler firefighters are on the scene of major house fire Monday afternoon.
At around 1:00 p.m., dispatchers received a call for help on the 800 block of David Street in south Tyler.
One man was home when the fire broke out, but he was unable to extinguish the flames and was forced out by heavy smoke, according to Deputy Fire Marshal Tony Gumber
A dog was killed in the blaze. No other injuries were reported.
Firefighters were able to save the house from destruction, but not before extensive fire and smoke damage was done.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
