UPDATE: ETX firefighter injured, flown to Tyler hospital

Wood County, Tx (KETK) — UPDATE: KETK has been told by Wood County emergency officials tell KETK, the injury was a serious hand injury, not a head injury as initially reported.
Randy Selman with Wood County Emergency Management says that a Hollylake firefighter was injured during a house fire on Monday morning.
The firefighter seriously cut his hand while working a fire in the Hollylake subdivision in Wood County.
While he was being treated, he began to have heart complications as well.
He was flown to a Tyler hospital.
The name of the firefighter and his condition are unknown at this time.
ORIGINAL STORY: A Wood County firefighter was hospitalized while fighting a fire Monday morning.
The fireman sustained a head injury and was flown to a Tyler hospital, according to Wood County Fire Marshal Randy Selman. No other information could be provided as this time as to how or where it happened.
The current condition of the firefighter is not known. KETK will bring you more information as it becomes available.
