UPDATE:

Assistant Fire Chief of Dixie Volunteer Fire Department, Matt York tells KETK that at around 3:50 p.m. Sunday afternoon Dixie, Lindale, and Noonday fire were called to Pineridge Drive in Smith County for a structure fire.

The fire began on the backside of the house on the patio and went up the brick wall and then continued into the attic.

Most of the damage was in the attic and the roof is severly damaged.

Fire crews had the fire under control within 45 minutes.

There were no injuries to report, the homeowner at the time of the fire was out of town.

Crews did save half the house but the other half is destroyed.

At this time it is uknown how the fire started that is still under investigation.

Smith County officials have confirmed that the fire is now under control.

At this time they do not know what caused the fire and it is still under investigation.

Smith County Fire Marshal has confirmed with KETK that there is a house on fire on Highway 64 West and Pineridge Drive.

They have fire crews on scene.
