**UPDATE** Firefighters still on scene of brush fire
Firefighters are still on scene of a brush fire that started Thursday night in Smith County.
Lindale fire officials stayed on scene overnight to watch the ashes.
Smith County fire department now tells us that firefighters have returned to fight the fire.
We will bring you more information as we get it.
Several acres were burned in a large brush fire in Smith County thursday night.
Firefighters battled the blaze off County Roads 490 and 489. Smith County Fire Marshal Jim Seaton tells KETK a nearby railroad also caught fire because the fire spread so fast.
Lindale fire officials say someone at this time is watching the ashes to make sure it doesn't start again. They are unsure if the fire was set intentionally.
It remains under investigation.
