UPDATE: Five vehicle head-on collision on Broadway in Tyler

It is now confirmed that five vehicles are involved in the accident.

Officials on scene say they believe the wreck began when a driver of a Chevy truck heading southbound on South Broadway fell asleep at the wheel, veering into oncoming traffic.

The collision started a domino effect, resulting in a total of five vehicles piling up.

There is no report of any serious injury, but three people have been transported to local hospitals.

KETK has been told that the driver of the Chevy truck will be ticketed.


Tyler Police confirm there are four vechicles involved in a head-on collision on South Broadway in Tyler near the intersection of Southtown Rd.

Officials say it is in front of the Walmart on 6801 South Broadway.

No word yet of any injuries, but they are dispatching an ambulance as well.
