UPDATE: Four apartments damaged in Tyler fire

UPDATE (2:51p.m.): Tyler Fire officials tell KETK crews on scene that four apartment units have been damaged by smoke - two upstairs and two downstairs.

The fire reportedly started in the the walls connecting the units, though the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Fire investigators will attempt to determine the cause once the hot spots cool down.

Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident.

UPDATE (2:15pm): Tyler Fire officials tell KETK that the call for the fire came in at 1:21 pm on Monday. The caller told firefighters that there was smoke coming from the walls of the building.

When firefighters arrived, they noticed heavy smoke and they called for a second alarm. As of 2:20p.m., there were ten Tyler Fire crews on scene.

Fortunately, there have not yet been any injuries reported.

The cause has not yet been determined, but firefighters will investigate as soon as they get the fire under control.

KETK will continue to update this story as more information is released.

UPDATE (2:00pm): Tyler Fire officials tell KETK that the fire at Kensington Apartments has been upgraded to a two-alarm fire, and additional firefighters are now on scene.

Details are still limited, but we have a crew at the scene and will continue to update as we get more information.

ORIGINAL STORY (1:49pm): Fire crews are on the scene of a fire at a Tyler apartment complex.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Paluxy at Kensington Apartments.

KETK has a crew on scene.
