Longview Police have confirmed one death in a three-vehicle wreck on Loop 281 near the intersection with Birdsong in Longview.

Another person has been transported to the hospital.

Police say the wreck happened during the 7:00 am hour, when a truck crossed over into incoming traffic, hitting one vehicle. A third vehicle stopped due to the wreck and rolled down a hill, crashing, after the driver forgot to put the parking brake on.

The scene is expected to be cleaned up by 10:00 am. Traffic is currently down to one eastbound lane, and the westbound lanes are closed at Birdsong. You should avoid the area if possible.
