Angelina County DPS have released the identity of the man killed in the three-vehicle accident involving a school bus and two 18-wheelers in Lufkin on Monday night.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, Barry Harper, 57, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was killed in the crash. He would have been 58 on December 5th.

There were no other serious injuries reported.

Highway 59 North reopened soon after, except for a two mile stretch near Farm to Market Road 843 near Lufkin, where the accident occurred. That stretch was closed through Tuesday morning before it reopened in the afternoon.

One of the 18-wheelers involved in the crash was marked with a Placard 1856, which is a Resin solution. A HAZMAT crew was called out to clean up the hazardous chemicals leaking from the vehicle.

Sheila Adams, spokeswoman for Lufkin ISD has confirmed the bus is from Lufkin schools and the bus driver, as well as three students, were taken to a local hospital, having only suffered minor injuries.
