Update: Late night fire in Kilgore under investigation

KILGORE — The Kilgore Fire Department tells KETK that their preliminary investigation shows the fire was contained to the living room of the home. There was about 50% smoke and heat damage to the rest of the home.
One person was taken to Parkland Burn Unit in Dallas and is listed in stable condition as a result of the fire.
The Red Cross has put the displaced family up in a hotel. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kilgore Fire Department.
Kilgore Fire Department tells KETK, a house fire started around 11:00 pm on Tuesday night in the 400 block of Gulf Hercules Rd. in Kilgore.
When officials arrived on scene, the home was 30% involved. Several units, including the Kilgore Fire Department and Kilgore Rescue units, were able to get the fire under control by 11:34 pm.
Investigators remained on scene to determine a cause, and cleared the scene around Just before 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
