TYLER - A Tyler ISD school was placed under lockdown this morning.

School officials say St. Louis School was locked down after it was believed someone fired a gunshot.

Tyler ISD Police were the first to arrive at the school this morning, after receiving a call that a gunshot had been fired off campus.

After hearing the shot, as part of protocol, the school was immediately put on lockdown. Minutes later, Tyler Police joined Tyler ISD Police in their investigation.

After investigating, police say the shot was fired off school property, and pellets from the shell fell on top of the roof of the horse arena. The horse arena is on school property. It's used as therapeutic riding for students.

Police tell us none of the horses were on campus at the time and no one was injured.
