UPDATE: Man charged with hitting friend with vehicle, killing him

TYLER — Update (December 3rd): Tyler Police have issued an arrest warrant for Justin Wayne Staples.
The 30 year old is charged with Manslaughter, a 2nd degree felony.
Staples turned himself in on November 30th.
Police tell KETK he was driving the vehicle that hit Chad Everett Davis on November 23rd.
UPDATE (November 26th): After investigating, Tyler Police tell KETK, that Chad Everett Davis, 38, who died after sustaining major injuries in a wooded area in Tyler last week, had been hit by a vehicle.
The vehicle was reportedly driven my a man who was a friend of Davis'. The two had reportedly had been drinking together that night.
The case is still under investigation. No word on the name of the driver, or what charges, if any, will be filed.
ORIGINAL STORY (November 23rd): Tyler Police are investigating a suspicious death that they found
EMS notified Tyler Police just after 1:00 am on Friday, November 23rd.
The EMS personnel claimed a man had sustained serious injuries in a heavily wooded area just northwest of Blue Mountain Blvd. and they needed police assistance.
When police arrived, they discovered that the man, 38 year old Chad Everett Davis, of Tyler, had died.
Investigators are looking into what caused Davis' injuries.
