Update: Man killed driving wrong way on I-20

Update: Troopers on scene tell KETK, a man driving a white Corvette the wrong way in the eastbound lane of I-20 was killed upon impact with a tractor trailer.

The wreck happened around midnight near Lavender Road. The driver of the semi was not harmed.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The identity of the man killed has not been released.


Original Report: A car possibly traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 20, near Lavender Road crashed head-on with a tractor trailer.

Smith County DPS tells KETK, debris from the vehicles was thrown into both westbound and eastbound lanes.

Red Springs fire fighters are en route to the scene and KETK has a photojournalist on the way to bring you the latest information.
