UPDATE: Missing autistic child found dead in Lake Palestine

The Smith County Sheriff''s Department confirms with KETK that the body of Evan Reed was recovered near the Villages Marina on Lake Palestine around 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Evan was last seen at his home arounf 5 p.m. on Friday evening, according to the Smith Co. Sheriff's dept.

Smith County officials say a boater found Reed floating in the water near The Villages Marina, which is about 3 miles north of the Reed residence in Flint.

KETK was at the Reed home early Saturday afternoon, and it has been taped off with crime tape.

Officals tell KETK they are following protocol and continuing their missing-persons investigation.

They have ordered an autopsy on Evan Reeds body, this case is still under investigation.


The Smith County Sheriff's Office confirms a search is underway for a missing autistic child.

According to the Noonday Fire Department, the child's home is located in the 17,000 block of Carol Circle.

KETK has a crew headed to the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available.

Hmmm...where is the fence?
