UPDATE: No injuries in Cherokee County plane crash

Cherokee County DPS officials say the pilot, 64-year-old Roger Willheim, first reported engine trouble around 9:45 a.m.

Willheim made an emergency landing in a field near County Road 3414, barely missing power lines.

Willheim was uninjured and no other passengers were on board.

The plane is registered to Willheim out of Colorado Springs, Colorado


Smith County DPS officials tell KETK the pilot survived the crash.

The accident occurred off County Road 3414 north of Highway 175.

 

 


Cherokee County Sheriff's officials confirm a plane has crashed near the town of Cuney.

Emergency crews are currently headed to the scene off Highway 175.

Details are limited at this time.
