UPDATE: Officials identify missing woman's husband as a person of interest
WOOD COUNTY — UPDATE: Wood County officials have identified a 55-year-old Canton woman's husband as a person of interest in connection with her disappearance.
DPS officials say Marquita Leanne Gutierrez was reported missing on Nov. 11 by family members, and has not been seen since. Dark said officials believe her husband, 53-year-old Gilbert Cortez Gutierrez, might be involved in her disappearance. Marquita Gutierrez was reported missing after borrowing her mother's truck that morning to go to a doctor's appointment. The doctor's office said she never showed up.
According to our news partners, KTBB, Her husband was last seen in the Dallas area and was possibly heading toward Laredo. Gilbert Gutierrez is five-foot, six-inches tall, weighs about 265 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair. He has a tattoo of the word "Apache" on his forehead. Dark said he also is typically dressed in Native American-style clothing and jewelry.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department is asking the public's help in attempting to locate 55-year-old Marquita Gutierrez. She has an extensive medical history.
Gutierrez is from the Alba, Texas area in Wood County.
Marquita was last seen on October 14, 2011 when she borrowed her mother's white Ford F250 bearing Texas license plate AX47520 to go to a doctor's appointment in Canton, Texas.
Marquita never arrived at the appointment and has not been seen since that date. The Wood County Sheriff's Department is requesting that anyone who may have seen Marquita or her vehicle to please contact the CrimeStopper tip line, or contact the Sheriff's Department.
