UPDATE: Officials release name of man injured in Hwy 79 wreck

Tyler TX — Cherokee County DPS officials have identified the man injured in Tuesday's wreck, which closed Hwy. 79 near the Neches river for almost a full day.
KETK has learned that 76 year old Edwin Dolan, from Jacksonville, was in a Honda Civic involved in the crash.
TxDOT closed the road Tuesday when an over-sized 18-wheeler slammed into a guardrail near the Cherokee/Anderson county line, also colliding with Dolan's car.
The road was reopened early Wednesday morning.
Dolan remains in the hospital in critical condition.
TXDot officials confirm to KETK, that Hwy. 79 is now open to traffic.
The road was opened at 8:00 a.m.
Highway 79 at the Anderson/Cherokee County line remains closed Wednesday morning, as of 7:00 a.m. due to Tuesday's wreck.

TxDot reports that a wreck has the US 79 bridge closed at the Anderson/Cherokee County lines between Palestine and Jacksonville.
Officials say an oversized semi crashed through the guardrail on the bridge.
Authorities suggest using US 175, US 84, SH 155 or FM 747 as alternate routes.
The bridge is expected to be closed until noon Wednesday due to extensive damage and removal of wreckage.
