UPDATE: Person of interest, victim identified in Tyler apartment stabbing

TYLER — At around 8:19 this morning, the Tyler Police Department 911 center received a phone call indicating that the person’s mother had been stabbed.
The address given by the caller was at the Moore Grocery Loft apartments on the 400 block N. Broadway. When officers arrived,l it was determined that an altercation happened inside the apartment building.
Officers found a 40-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. She was being treated by emergency crews. She was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition. The victim has been identified by a family member as Victoria Massey, a secretary for Judge Quincy Beavers.
Neighbors of Massey tell KETK police are looking for a man named George Terry. It is unknown what the connection is between Terry and this incident.
The only description given on the suspect is a black male wearing a red shirt, not a black shirt as previously reported.
Anyone with information about the suspect involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833). Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
ORIGINAL REPORT: Tyler Police are searching for a suspect who stabbed a woman in the Moore Grocery Lofts Friday morning.
According to Tyler Police, a call came in at 8:19 to 911 from the woman's son, who told dispatchers that his mother had been stabbed.
When police arrived they found a 40-year-old woman who had been stabbed. She was taken to a local hospital. The extent of her injuries is not known.
An eyewitness told Tyler Police that the suspect ran from the scene, heading either north or northwest, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
Police are now conducting a manhunt. A creek drain was searched in the area of Goodman and College Street.
