UPDATE: Police identify Lake Nacogdoches drowning victim

Nacogdoches Police have made a positive identification of a man that drowned in Lake Nacogdoches Monday evening.

The victim has been identified as Miguel Escobar, age 29. Escobar had recently arrived in Nacogdoches and was staying with friends. His address has been listed as Compton, California.

Family members are making arrangements to transport his body back to California.

Information from Nacogdoches Police Department

The body of the 30-year old man was recovered around 9:00 pm Monday evening.

His name has still not been released.

Rescue crews are searching for the body of a 30-year-old hispanic man, who went missing in Lake Nacogdoches.

The Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel reporting-- the man was reportedly swimming in the east park area of the lake around 6 o'clock Monday night, when witnesses say, he started screaming.

They say, at first, they thought the man was playing around.

The man's name is not being released at this time.
