UPDATE: Police investigating mobile meth lab in Tyler

Police are investigating a mobile meth lab found in Tyler.

Officers on scene tell KETK, around 9 p.m. they spotted two people exiting the woods and making there way back to a car that was parked at the intersection of Forest and Garden Valley.

A third person was sitting the car.

When the officers approached the men they discovered one them had methamphetamine.

Officers tell KETK, they searched the car and were able to find numerous items of drug paraphernalia as well as numerous bottles of chemicals and laboratory equipment.

Tyler firefighters along with a hazmat crew safely separted the chemicals in a way the would not cause a chemical reaction.

The three men were brought to the Tyler Police Department where they were questioned by Detectives.

Two of the men were released.

The other man  was booked into the Smith County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The names of the subjects and the specifics of the case are not being released at this time due to an ongoing investigation. 

The scene has been cleared.
