SMITH COUNTY — Deputies tell KETK the were chasing a man after he allegedly walked into a house without permission on Big Oak Drive.

The man, who claims to be a college student, asked to use a phone, but was denied by the people inside the home. He then ran from the scene.

Authorities found the alleged student inside a boat house on Big Oak Drive. He is currently in Smith County custody.

Officials could not provide any other information at this time.

Smith County officials confirm they are currently chasing a suspect near Lake Palestine.

At least one deputy is in a foot pursuit on Highway 155 in the Dogwood area.
