UPDATE: Fire officials say the fire is now under control and no longer spreading  It began when someone was burning brush, and got out of control. 

SMITH COUNTY - A large grassfire is spreading in Smith County at County Road 15 and FM 346

Fire officials say the fire is moving into the trees and is crossing property lines.

Whitehouse Fire Department is on the scene fighting the blaze and a fire marshall is en route.
