UPDATE: Smith County Sheriff's officials say father accidentally shoots son

UPDATE (9:26 PM): NEWS RELEASE FROM SMITH COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT.:
At 7:10 pm, deputies from the Smith County Sheriff's Office responded to a caller reporting a disturbance in the 15000 block of CR 2223 between a father and son over the son's alleged refusal to leave the father's property.
The father allegedly fired warning shots to scare the son off the property, with one of the shots reportedly ricocheting and hitting the son in the foot.
The son drove himself to the ETMC clinic on S. Broadway in Tyler to seek medical attention.
The case is still under investigation.
Officials with the Smith County Sheriff's Department tell KETK, they are investigating a shooting.
It happened just after 7 o'clock at a house on 15,000 Block of County Road 2223 in Smith County.
Details are limited, however, we do know it involved a family.
And, we do know, at least one person was taken to a local hospital.
