Henderson County — Update: KETK has learned that Jackie Guthrie was brought back to Henderson County on Monday afternoon at about 1:00 pm. He is being held in the Henderson County Jail.

A suspected murderer and kidnapper will be brought back to Henderson County as early as Monday for arraignment.

Jackie Martez Guthrie, 22, was arrested Friday evening in Galveston for the shooting death of Chantel Barret, 18, and the subsequent kidnapping of his pregnant girlfriend, Tiffany Hurd. He is being held without bail in the Galveston County Jail, awaiting extradition to Henderson County.

Police say Thursday evening, Guthrie shot Barret in the back, then forced Hurd into Barret's vehicle at gunpoint and fled. 

Guthrie was found with Hurd in Galveston on Friday evening after a citizen tipped off police.
