Several suspects entered the store and assaulted the owner who was working behind the counter by striking him in the face with their fist.  The suspects then grabbed several packs of cigarettes and ran out the store.  The owner suffered minor injuries. Officers flooded the area and were able to capture four suspects.

The suspects are identified as:
1) Steven Ray Sadler, B/M, 03/06/1994 age 17, of Tyler, bond $505,000
2) Michael Avory Hayles, B/M, 12/19/1994 age 17, of Tyler, bond $250,000
3) Prince Kentrell Hull, B/M, 02/12/1993 age 18, of Tyler, bond $250,000
4) Jamon Nicholas Taylor, B/M, 07/21/1994 age 17, of Tyler, bond $250,000

All four suspects have been charged with Robbery a 2nd degree felony and Sadler was also charged with evading police.

Tyler Police Investigators believe that more suspects may have been involved in this incident and may file other charges upon completion of the investigation.

Four people are now in custody after robbing a convenience story in the 2700 block of W. Gentry.

The robbers ages range from 17-years old and up, according to Tyler police.

Officials tell KETK, three men jumped behind the store's counter, beat up the clerk, and  took cigarettes before running into nearby neighborhoods.

Police units in the area responded and were able to catch four suspects. It's possible that 2 more are on the loose.

Charges are currently pending. Detectives continue to investigate the scene.


At least two suspects are in custody at this time. No word yet on how many suspects are involved.


Authorities are currently chasing at least one suspect following a convenience store robbery.

The robbery happened in the 2700 block of W. Gentry late Friday morning.
