TYLER-- Tyler ISD officials tell us that an activity called the "Choking Game" is putting many students in danger.  In the game, the student will either choke each other or use a noose to choke themselves in order to get a brief "high."  After just a short time, the individual passes out, placing himself/herself at risk for injuries, seizures, brain damage, vision loss, or death.

The game is also called "American Dream," "Blackout," "Funky Chicken," "Space Cowboy," and many other names.

TISD officials say there have been 10-12 reports of students playing the game in the last 3-4 weeks.  Officials are sending letters out to parents today with specific warning signs for a child who may be playing the choking game.
