TJC officials have confirmed with KETK they are working with Tyler police to investigate a report of an alleged sexual assault on campus.

Fred Peters tells KETK police was called by a local hospital before 6 p.m. Sunday.

The alleged assault happened overnight the previous evening.

Peters says the suspect is around 300 pounds, 6 feet fall and wearing a TJC shirt and blue jeans.

Police is currently looking for the suspect.

An update was posted on the TJC Facebook page as of 8:45 p.m. Sunday:

"Anyone with information that could be helpful to TJC Campus Police is asked to call TJC Police at 903-510-2222. Tips can also be sent anonymously by texting 79516, starting the message with "tjctip" then texting your message."

Tyler Junior College police are investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault on campus.

TJC has yet to confirm the investigation, but the following message is posted on the college's Facebook page:

"TJC Police are investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault that occurred on campus, possibly in Ornelas A. unknown suspect is a tall heavy set Black male wearing a TJC shirt and jeans."

An email was also sent out to all TJC students.
