UPDATE 10:20 a.m.: State Troopers tell KETK this accident scene has been cleared and all traffic lanes are now open.

State Troopers tell KETK one lane is now open on FM 850. Officers are on the scene, controlling traffic flow there in each direction.

The driver of the truck was headed to a landfill to dump a full load of trash. As he approached a curve in the road, the driver noticed a car headed in his direction in the same lane.

He swerved to get out of the way of the oncoming car, and that's when he lost control, hit a tree and ended up in the ditch.

The tree fell into the road, but has been removed.

The driver of the truck has only minor injuries.

Officials have not issued any tickets.

DPS tells KETK crews on the scene that traffic will be shut down for some time in both directions on FM 850, while crews attempt to turn the truck back over.

Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.

There is no word yet on any injuries that may have been involved in the accident.

DPS officials confirm to KETK, the vehicle that has rolled over is a trash truck.

Authorities also say, there is a large tree across FM 850.

It is unclear at this time whether the trash truck hit the tree, or swerved to miss it, causing the accident.

More details will be provided once the information is given to us.

Smith County DPS officials tell KETK, there is a major accident on CR 26, at FM 850.

Officials say an 18-wheeler has turned over.

It is unconfirmed if there are any injuries involved.
