Two people were killed and another injured following an early morning wreck in Panola County.

Jabier A. Juarez, 57, and  Augustin Ortega, 48, were killed in the accident.

Manuel Mora, 57, Rogeilio Mora and Augustin Rodriguez Dias were injured in the crash.

The families have not been notified as they are living in Mexico, but officials cannot find them.

The wreck happened around 1:00 a.m. on Highway 59 near the FM 1794 intersection, which is between Marshall and Carthage.

State Troopers on scene tell KETK that an El Expreso tour bus was heading north on Hwy. 59 when the driver got word a passenger had been left behind at a truck stop.

The bus driver attempted to make a u-turn, but failed to check for oncoming traffic and collided with a tractor-trailer that was hauling sand.

The driver of the bus and one of his passengers were thrown from the bus and were pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the tractor trailer was flown to a Tyler hospital with a head injury. His condition is unknown at this time.

A few other passengers were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Those that were not injured were taken back to the truck stop to wait for another bus.

A passenger told the KETK crew on scene that the bus was heading from Houston to Chicago.

No names have been released at this time.

KETK will update information as it becomes available.

I have not seen a follow up article with the names of those injured, nor the names of those who died. It helps to know especially when our loved ones have not contacted us and were traveling via bus from Houston.
