Tyler Investigators were notified that Ashton Wade, age 4, passed away in Children’s Hospital in Dallas, on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 7:10 p.m. This case remains under investigation.


NEWS RELEASE FROM TYLER POLICE DEPARTMENT:

On 06-14-2011 at 8:14 pm, Tyler Police Officers were dispatched to 3088 Old Omen Road in reference to an unresponsive child.

Once on scene, officers learned that a 4 year old black male identified as, Ashton Wade, DOB 01-15-2007 was found floating unresponsive in the swimming pool of the apartment complex.

Prior to officers arrival, the child was pulled from the swimming pool by a citizen and CPR was administered.

EMS and TFD responded to the scene and began treating the child.

The child was transported to East Texas Medical Center and then later transported to Children's Hospital in Dallas.

The child and the adults that were with the child reside in Tyler, but do not live at the apartment complex where this occurred.

Tyler Police and Fire are on the scene of a possible drowning at the Cambridge Apartments in Tyler.

The call came in just before 8:30 Tuesday night.

Details are slim at this time.
